{UAH} Patrick Ogwang for UNAA

Dear Diaspora community

It's with great humility and honor that I come before you today as I continue to seek your blessings on this journey to serve you, in my purpose driven campaign, to be the next president of the Ugandan North America Association 2019-2021.

I am a father and a husband, and together with my wife, Aisha Musoke Ogwang are citizens of the Dallas Fort Worth Ugandan community. In this community we found love, in this community we got engaged, in this community we got married and in this community we birthed our lovely daughter Lennon Amari Ogwang. We have served the community and the community has served us, supported us through the tough times, stood with us, prayed for us and prayed with us, we are deeply indebted and will forever subscribe to the concept community and service.

I have been a member of the diaspora community for 19 years. I came to this country with $100 to my name, a briefcase full of Hope and no home to go, but the diaspora community of Dallas welcomed me and gave me hope, a hope that has manifested in my social contribution over the years and my very being today. Blessings to all those who have made it possible for me this far and a special thanks to Mr. Ayub Kisitu and the Kaweesa family for absorbing me.

In 2002, I started work with Walmart stores inc. as a sales associate and worked my way to store management, where I was responsible for merchandising, people and operations. I used the position to extend employment opportunities to qualified members of our Dallas community, in the spirit of looking out for one another in this borrowed land we now call home.

I have served as a two time Vice President 2010-2012 under the leaderships of Mr. Frank Sentamu and Mr. Monday Atigo.

In 2013 I was elected community President, the same year we hosted the UNAA Dallas convention.

During my leadership we took a step to revive our relationship with the Houston community and organized the first Independence Day soccer Cup (2013 ) between the communities, we traveled to Houston. A culture that carries on till today and has bettered the relationship between the two communities. The possibilities through sports are enormous among which are, a united community, a healthy community, scholarship opportunities for our children etc... I myself came to this nation because of sports. Basketball opened up doors for me and I am forever grateful.

In 2009, With a few colleagues, shared a vision of bringing the community together and so we opened up a community center (Nile Hall) in Fort Worth, TX. It was the passion of being servants that drove us to want to make a difference. Together we can aspire to be more and make a positive contribution in the community that we live in.

In the same spirit of togetherness, in 2011 we started up a diaspora investment group which has grown into a successful land and real estate company. In my bid for President of UNAA, I look forward to rolling out a similar investment plan to several Ugandan communities across the nation, in an effort to financially empower members, using the success formula we used in Texas to create a mastermind alliance.

My vision for UNAA is to restore hope and togetherness in our Ugandan community. I believe that together we can turn the page and begin to write a new chapter in our lives, in our communities and in our organization.
Embracing our different religious affiliations, races, tribes and political views, we will unite towards a common goal of one UNAA, by activating and awakening that seed of greatness which is embedded in every man and woman.

I therefore humble myself and come before you and ask for your VOTE and support once in Chicago.

Blessings

Patrick Ogwang

{UAH} LT. COL. EDITH NAKALEMA . – PROTECTOR OF THE CORRUPT

Born in: 1978

Place of Birth: Kashaari, Mbarara District Uganda.

Father:  Eiyasafu Sserwadda an Anglican priest.

Mother: Midrace Sserwadda

Mobile Contact: +256 772 634 743

Origin

Eiyasafu Ndagizimana a Hutu, came to Uganda as an Anglican priest from Bujumbura in 1973 and settled in Mbarara Church Diocese. In Mbarara he met with Midrace Nambatya who was a shop attendant in Mbarara town. They bought land in Kashaari and set up a house and the couple got married in 1976. Midrace Nambatya renamed her husband Sserwadda and when they gave birth to their first born, she was named Edith Nakalema. In 1980, they gave birth to their second born whom they named Doreen Mbabazi currently the Deputy RDC Mbarara District.

She struggled through the levels of education under Church of Uganda sponsorship as an orphan until university where she dropped-out in year one and forged a degree in 1999. She used this degree to join military training and later service.

Nakalema holds a degree first claimed to be from Makerere University, later Nkumba University and finally Kampala International University. The deeper truth reveals that Nakalema dropped out of University in the first year at Nkumba University and forged degrees from all the above-mentioned University one of which she used to join military in 1999.

Nakalema joined the military in 1999 and later joined active service in 2000.

She joined the Presidential Guard Brigade (SFC) where she worked in the department of finance.

She was very close to Muhoozi Kainerugaba where they both established an Accountability System at the SFC. Later Muhoozi recommended her to State House to work as the Principal Private Secretary to Museveni.

In 2016 after coordinating the anti-Go-Forward campaign at state house together with Muhoozi, Nalweyiso and Molly Kamukama; Nakalema was elevated to the post of Personal Assistant to Museveni while Kamukama took her former position of PPS. Nakalema immediately started taking Charge of Museveni's daily itinerary. This made her extremely powerful.

In 2017, after a series of in-house conflicts resulting from public outcry involving money misuse and theft of presidential donations, she was suspended and waited to go for a course at Joint Services Command and Staff College (higher Command and Staff Course) on state house sponsorship to allow room for investigation.

And also joined King's College London where she got a master's degree in Law.

THE GENESIS OF HER TERMINATION

In March 2015 when John Patrick Amama Mbabazi expressed his bid for presidency, Museveni and his publically recognized wife, Janet Kataha set up teams to coordinate anti Go-Forward camps.

One at State House was led by Proscovia Nalweyiso deputized by Edith Nakalema. The other at UPDF Headquarters led by Molly Kamukama, and the last one coordinated under the first lady's office headed by Molly Asiimwe with offices in Bugolobi.

Nakalema and Nalweyiso used Ugx200m daily, Kamukama usedUgx50m daily while Asiimwe used Ugx 5m to 10m daily with most of the big payouts done by the first lady herself.

Through a group dubbed Team Thorough YKM coordinated by Molly Asiimwe, they finished the entire campaign with a gross budget of about Ugx300m, while Kamukama completed the campaign having spent Ugx8.5bn and Nalweyiso with Nakalema spent Ugx28bn.

After defeating Amama Mbabazi, in mid-2016, Museveni ordered for an internal audit report. The results showed that Molly Asiimwe destroyed Amama Mbabazi by 85% using Ugx300m, Molly Kamukama contributed 10% using Ugx8.5bn and Nalweyiso with Nakalema contributed 5% using Ugx28bn.

This angered Museveni that the three women stole the money and called them to explain how the money was spent.

Kamukama was exonerated after she revealed that her budget involved catering for wives of soldiers who were campaigning in the villages in the countryside. Museveni was convinced.

Nalweyiso was exonerated after she explained to Museveni that she handed over the task to Nakalema when she was summoned to join the campaign trail with the candidate who had started campaigns in Eastern, Busoga and Buganda. This paved way for Nakalema to take full charge of the project and fed her greed to the fullest.

Nakalema therefore picked a fight with Molly Asiimwe whom she promised to kill blaming her for being a naïve a villager who can never get rich therefore failing their progress too by exposing them. The tension between the two worsened after Museveni suggested that Molly Asiimwe would make him a good PPS a job Molly Kamukama too was eyeing.

Janet Kataha intervened and immediately demanded that Museveni sacks Nakalema. Janet used her intelligence agents to investigate Edith Nakalema and came out with a report reveling that:-

  1. Nakalema had acquired a house in Watchfield, UK worth US$360,000.
  2. Nakalema had bought apartments in Bunga along Kalungu road at the cost of US$1.8m.
  3. Nakalema had bought 374 acreas of land on Lake Wamala in Mityana worthy Ugx 5.6bn.

The report was handed over to Museveni who tasked his intelligence to verify. After verification, Museveni was amazed and he immediately suspended the duties of Edith Nakalema.

Nakalema rushed to Muhoozi, later Salim Saleh both who advised her to apologize to Janet Kataha and then make peace with Molly Asiimwe whom Janet Kataha had elevated to be her Executive Secretary.

After she apologized and made peace with Molly Asiimwe and for the fact that she knew a lot about Museveni due to the positions she served in state house, Museveni could not let her starve on streets because of her previous service for several years, Kagame also wanted her service using Kayihura.

Nakalema was therefore sent to United Kingdom for a course and later deployed as the Head of State House Anti-Corruption and Monitoring Unit.

THE DARK SIDE OF LT COL EDITH NAKALEMA

CORRUPTION

After winning the fight to eject Amelia Kyambande from the office of PPS in State House, she started the project of renting Museveni. No one meets Museveni without paying a fee to Nakalema and her team. This is exactly what Molly Kamukama succeeded. During the days, Nakalema asked for Ugx 5m to Ugx 100m to see Museveni. Today, it is US$5,000 to $100,000 hence the death of many foreigners in hotels who after paying the money are blocked from meeting Museveni. Such foreigners are killed to avoid trouble to Nakalema and her team since there is no refund if meetings don't happen as anticipated.

In 2013, Gen Kale Kayihura the IGP put her on the pay roll of UGX15m per month to become his eyes and ears on ground at State House. This is exactly what Molly Kamukama took up. On several occasions, Nakalema received direct calls from Paul Kagame but it is alleged that she always reported to Museveni unless when the message came through Kayihura. She knew that SFC at State House records most of the voice calls within the vicinity.

Nakalema is reported to have been at the frontline of rejecting the late AIGP from meeting Museveni on orders of Kayihura.

It is also said that Nakalema leaked the dismissal letter to the media, which Museveni had authored to stop Kale Kayihura as IGP at the beginning of 2017.

It is confirmed that after the rise of People Power, which is mainly made of youth who are agitating for the end of corruption a mandate of the office of the Inspector General of Government, Sam Kuteesa, Odrek Rwabwogo and Salim Saleh came up with a strategy to weaken the IGG's office. So they created a rival faction in State House headed by terminally corrupt Edith Nakalema to protect corruption crimes of this mafia gang.

African and the world know that the most corrupt Ugandans are Sam Kutesa, his son Odrek Rwabwogo, Salim Saleh, Frank Tumwebaze, David Bahati, Muhoozi Kainerugaba and Janet Kataha Museveni not forgetting her husband Museveni: The Father of corruption. Who is Edith Nakalema fighting or protecting? Is it Ugandans or the mafias?

The most laughable move Museveni has done in the recent past is to crown Lt Col Edith Nakalema the head of State House Anti-Corruption Unit. All Ugandans and Investors know that Nalweyiso and Nakalema rent Museveni and earn billions weekly from either bribes from investors or from presidential pledges and donations or from efforts by Ugandans to meet Museveni. Ugandans are aware that Nalweyiso is Museveni's briefcase and all she knows is the language of stealing, bribing and commissioning. This makes these two iron women the faces of state house corruption.

TODDLER MURDERED BY COL. EDITH. NAKALEMA AND GEN. NALWEYISO TO EVADE MEDICAL BILLS.

At the beginning of June this year, Mugisha, SFC serving soldier under the Presidential Guard Brigade – PGB, from Ntungamo wakes up to the death of his child caused by corruption in State House.

In 2017, Mugisha, who used to drive the Follow / Escort Car in Museveni Convoy, got his new born with a sick heart whom Museveni vowed to treat. After acquiring documentation from Mulago Hospital, the child was taken to India for treatment. As usual, everyone knows that Maj Gen Nalweyiso is the moneybag to such projects. State House through Nalweyiso pays more than Ugx45bn at Nakasero Hospital alone and over Ugx240bn in treatment abroad.

After the first phase of treatment, the child was held in the hospital in India over non-payment while Nakalema and Nalweyiso bagged US$10,000 and US$12,000 respectively meant for treatment bills.

Mugisha's family raised some money to transport Mugisha to India who took photos of the sick child to dismiss rumors to Museveni that Mugisha was lying and that the child had been treated and returned to Uganda. When the photos spread, a large section in military, politics and the public got concerned and this threatened the survival of Nalweyiso and Nakalema.

In response, Mugisha was disarmed, uniform taken, job dissolved and a plot to arrest him was planned. He was saved by a one general who told Nalweyiso that it was inhumane to arrest a parent in pain whose child is struggling to live.

Many ministers who agitated for support for the sick child were all scared off and receded to grave silence.

When Mugisha wrote more letters to Museveni, and mainstream media covered part of his dilema, Nalweyiso and Nakalema mobilized hit men to eliminate Mugisha the Muhammad Kirumira way. One captain from Salim Saleh's camp headed this assassination mission using a premio and ipsum for surveillance [car registration plates and photos will be provided soon].

Ugx 30m was given to an assassin to go to India and kill the child but information leaked and mission aborted. Eventually the patient was returned to Uganda.

During the course of time, Mugisha needed to take the sick child to Mulago for regular check-up following experts instructions from India. At the heart institute in Mulago, Mugisha survived two assassination attempts and along the road; he escaped two other assassinations.

Nalweyiso and Nakalema resolved that if the father cannot be killed easily, then let there be an end to the child. This came after residents from Ntungamo district flocked the hospital to see the sick child and fundraised money for support.

At the beginning of June, Ugx15m was delivered to the doctor in Mulago who removed the battery from the baby's heart support machine thereby killing the baby. This was the most awaited moment for Nalweyiso's assassins to end Mugisha's life too.

The plot was made and he was supposed to be killed inside Mulago morgue while he collected the corpse. The fact that fewer people from the assassination Team knew him, he was able to by-pass them with a hood on his head and he saw majority of the killers carrying his photo to identify him from the busy crowded place.

He later boarded the A-plus funeral van that entered the morgue to pick the body where he fronted the A-plus staff to sign for the corpse on his behalf. On the way out, he met with one of the killers known to each other. The assassin immediately communicated on radio call that he had located the target. Upon Mugisha asking him what he meant by the target located, he responded that he was under arrest.

This prompted Mugisha to takeoff, pick a boda boda and fled the city. Several spots along Mbarara Ntungamo road were waiting places to ambush and kill Mugisha suspecting that he had to take the body to Ntungamo but he managed to take and burry the body of his dead child in Bulemezi flanked by just five people.

Today, Mugisha survives as a rat living in the ghettos of Kampala paying for having a sick child and seeking assistance from his boss Museveni.

This therefore is a reminder to all Ugandans, Nalweyiso and Nakalema are not only thieves but also killers and Museveni just cannot do without them. Their evils are fueled by Odrek Rwabwogo, Frank Tumwebaze, Sam Kutesa and Kataha Museveni.

Kirumira and Kaweesi would be alive only if Nalweyiso and Kamukama did not ask for UGX20m for them to see Museveni.

BANK OF UGANDA SAGA

When Edith Nakalema got a tip-off about the illegal luggage, she rushed to surround bank of Uganda and conducted arrests. Little did she know that she was burning her own fingers after discovering that the consignment belonged to Salim Saleh, Sam Kutesa and her boss Museveni.

It's evident she was indirectly sent in by master thief Museveni as a cover up move after information had leaked from Bank staff.

Ugandans should know that Nakalema's task through her Anti-Corruption Unit is to protect the most corrupt Ugandans in the elite class who loot government and National resources, grab land, kill fishermen, deplete forests, Reserves and swamps, dodge taxes, manufacture substandard goods, murder businessmen to monopolise businesses and a lot other atrocities to Ugandans.

{UAH} 3 reasons why your child must be encouraged to have a lot of play

$
0
0

Most parents limit their children from playing. They give reasons like; prevention from accidents, parents not wanting children to participate in children games and not wanting children to get dirty.

At home some children are made to stay indoor as parents try to prevent them from "causing problems" in the neighborhood.

Preventing children from playing however has lasting effects on the way children think.

A New Zealand volunteer who worked with schools in Uganda once noted that most of the children in Uganda "don't think". The volunteer reached this conclusion after studying these kids for more than three years and discovered that most of the rural school kids in Uganda can't think independently without the help of their teachers.

The low thinking abilities in Uganda's children especially in rural schools is a result of the lack of enough plays. Children are made to sit in classes for more than 6 hours a day which affects their mind development.

" When a teacher stands with a stick in front of the classroom and command students to echo back what the teacher said, thinking abilities are killed and instead memorization is encouraged " -Justine Basirika, an education assistant in Kayunga

Children learn better when they are playing. They even learn better when they get determined to win during competitive games.

Ms. Basirika also advised that encouraging children to solve complicated puzzles during competitive games will train them to think harder and this makes their brains to become more active. This is not possible when they are just listening to the teacher in a classroom.

Mr. Ronald Mugaba is a retired headteacher in Kayunga, a rural district in Uganda. He revealed that humans can be developed better during their early years especially before 7 years. This is however the period when children have their thinking abilities killed by parents and teachers.

Here are the 3 reasons why you should encourage your child to play

  1. Build their thinking abilities. Playing challenges the child's mind to participate in problem solving in order to win the game.
  2. Playing gives children a practical experience of living safely by avoiding accidents. Although parents are scared that playing exposes children to accidents. On the contrary its those children who don't play that are more prone to accidents because they in most cases rely on other people for their support.
  3. Playing promotes leadership tendencies in children. Human live in an organised society where leadership is recognized. Leadership abilities and respect for leaders is however leant at an early stage when children are playing. This is exercised during fights. When an adult however intervene, the cycle will be broken. Children then stop respecting leadership within their circles and start relying on adult support. Challenge is that this will create a leadership crisis and a power struggle which breaks harmony among the children community.

Experts advise that children should be allowed to play as parents and teachers train then to learn new life skills. This even work better if adults are involved in these games as participants rather than trainers.

Ms. Basirika who has worked with children  for close to 20 years advises that a teacher should be seen by these children as also competing to win in their game instead of teaching them how to win the game.

"After all you will not be there when these children need help during a life challenges" Basirika noted adding that this is why children should be encouraged to think instead of following rules.

"He just seemed so nice and normal when we were young.  He had a high profile job.  We were super spoiled. He always hugged me.  Always told me he loved me.  Always taught me things and encouraged me.  But I guess the whole time he had a drug problem.  He started yelling at my mom when I was five or six.  It would happen all the time.  Then when I was eight years old, I walked in on him beating her for the first time.  She was all bruised up and crying.  He looked like he wanted to kill her.  We left a few years later.  Mom woke us up in the middle of the night, packed our bags, and took us outside.  I remember she flagged down a random car.  My father ran after us in the street, begging me to stay,  just me.  We got a restraining order the next day.  And after that, I barely spoke to him anymore.  I hated him for what he did to my mom.  But a few months ago he had a bad stroke, and now he's living in a rehab center in a ghetto part of Toronto.  He just sits around all day.  He wears raggedy clothes.  He doesn't remember anything.  Whenever I visit him, he says he wishes we could go back to when we were kids.  He asks why my mom left him.  Then he asks again.  And again.  He just seems heartbroken.  It's all very pathetic.  I feel bad for him.  It's hard to stay mad at somebody who's not really there anymore."

AGP who allegedly involves his Christian faith in consultations with his patients is under investigation by the medical watchdog.

Dr Richard Scott, 58, has "involved a spiritual angle" for patients with depression, anxiety or addition for the past two decades, The Sunday Times reported.

Now the GP could face disciplinary action by the General Medical Council (GMC) and could lose his job following complaints that he made a patient feel uncomfortable while praying. He is also being investigated by NHS England.

The National Secular Society (NSS) complained to the GMC in May that a "highly vulnerable" patient felt "discomfort at the use of prayer".

Steven Evans, the NSS chief executive, said that the allegations had been made by someone who claimed they were an acquaintance of the patient.

Dr Scott, who runs a surgery called the Bethesda Medical Centre in Margate, Kent, cares for almost 20,000 patients. He claimed that he was shocked that a fitness to practice inquiry had been launched by the GMC as opposed to "a chat or gentle discussion".

"They are kowtowing to aggressive secularism," he told the newspaper. "Public safety is what they are there for [but] they are suddenly turned it into a big case."

He added that he also asks his patients for their permission to introduce elements of faith into his consultation and only does so at the end "after the standard Western medicine".

The NSS complaint cites a formal warning which Scott received by the GMC in 2012 "for expressing his religious beliefs in a way that distressed a 'psychologically troubled' patient. He told the patient that 'the devil haunts people who do not turn to Jesus'". Since then, he has received three informal complaints and one minor written complaint.

Dr Scott added: "The NSS is obviously gunning for me — and would like me to lose my job because they don't like me. Well, to be honest I don't like them but I am not gunning for them to lose their jobs. They think I am irresponsible and dangerous and I would say the same about them."

He maintains that his behaviour is vindicated by the World Health Organisation, which includes spiritual alongside physical and mental wellbeing, alongside scientific evidence that faith benefits health.

A spokeswoman for the GMC said that it was not permitted to share details of an investigation but that the watchdog has"a duty to investigate" if a "complaint or concern raises issues about a doctor's ability to practise safely or threaten [sic] public confidence".

The fattening Room (Nkugho)

The fattening room is an ancient practice in calabar which gradually going extinct . The fattening room is a place young women are prepared for womanhood. In ancient times, fat was viewed as a sign of prosperity, fertility and beauty. Young girls are usually taken to the fattening room during puberty. Acceptance into the fattening room was viewed as a privilege as it was a demonstration of virtue, sexual purity and Proved virginity. The ability of the young girl to gain weight in the fattening room was a sign that she possessed all the above mentioned qualities.

nkugho

A young girl due to enter the fattening room is usually mandated by her father to do so as the girls chastity is viewed as her father's responsibility. The father of the girl also invest by paying  what is called "Eme" (coral beads) to appease "Nku" (the river goddess of the house) before she is accepted into the fattening room. The concept is to show that the parents of the girl are wealthy enough to give their daughter a good life.

Once in the Fattening room the girls are kept away from their family members and friends, the only visitors allowed are the elderly women in the community who come to pass on lessons on marital etiquette  and acceptable social customs and behavior. The girls are also handfed Heavy meals rich in carbohydrate and fat, Sometimes the girls do not find this process pleasant as they have to consume the food regardless of their appetite.  They are also given all-round beauty treatment from head to feet, using what is called ndom (native chalk) and other massage oils made from natural plants. The training and beauty therapy is carried out over a period of one month or more while the girls are each housed in seclusion away from the public as they undergo preparation for marriage and womanhood. Before the end of their stay in the fattening room the girls are circumcised by their mothers this is to ensure she has limited sexual activity and remains chaste till marriage, it also helps her remain faithful in her marriage.

At the end of the Nkugho the girl is ceremoniously revealed to the community to show how big and beautiful she is now , well wishers and potential suitors are also invited to watch her dance. The Ibibio people of Akwa Ibom State also practice the fattening room tradition. The tradition  is somewhat similar to that of the Efiks, but the Ibibios  call the fattening room "Mbopo".
