Executive Lead CEO role
Location: London | Salary: Competitive Rate The Future Leaders Trust (TFLT) is a charitable organisation whose mission is to raise the achievement of children, regardless of background, and to provide them with equal choices and opportunities in life. By developing a network of exceptional schools leaders, we are transforming challenging schools and working to eradicate educational disadvantage. Since 2010 the number of academies has grown from 200 to over 4000. Six in ten secondary school pupils now attend an academy and there has been huge growth in the primary sector. The government recently announced that all schools will become academies within the next six years. Many academies are already part of Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), which oversee the development and performance of their academies, and the government is keen to see new MATs enter the market and small MATs expand. Leading a MAT requires excellent business, commercial, political and leadership skills and experience which goes well beyond what is required to run a single school or small group of schools. Our Executive Educators programme has been developed to recognise these significant differences in role requirements and to train current or aspiring leaders in meeting them. We are looking for a group of Executive Leads who are willing to share their own experiences of either taking on a role equivalent in scope and scale to a MAT CEO or developing those who have done so to help those on our Executive Educators programme to lead their organisations effectively for the benefit of the children they serve and thrive in their careers. The Executive Lead will guide one or more cohort(s) of 30 Executive Educators through their training programme. The role is part mentor, part facilitator and part critical friend. We are looking for individuals who share our passion for developing leadership in order to improve the life chances of all students. As Executive Lead your job will be to support our participants in ensuring they take the most from their training and to implement this learning into actions within their Trusts. Working with the delivery team at TFLT you will learn how the programme has been designed and the intended learning outcomes of each stage. Whilst at training you will need to be able to pull together the themes discussed that day and relate them to the role of a CEO. You will need to bring the group together, navigating challenging group dynamics and building an environment where participants can effectively collaborate on a range of issues.
